Efficient and reassuring! I found the National MRI Scan service online after waiting 2 months for help with chronic back pain. I had a phone consultation before and after the MRI from the osteopath consultant. He explained the scan results clearly, and arranged for them to be sent to my GP. I can now seek the help I need. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend National MRI scan.

Scan booked on Sunday online . We had the call from their referral consultant on Monday morning who suggested from my lower lumbar , leg symptoms that I had lower back and both hips scanned but the sacroiliac I booked was not really needed . We had a refund within 24 hours without me chasing it and for my convenience the scan was booked on Saturday morning. We had the results by Monday morning and by Tuesday I was in hospital where sadly I remain . The results were not what I hoped for but they were explained and I was told to get to my doctor straight away as for me a cancerous lesion had eaten my vertebrae leaving me vulnerable to spinal cord total compression and a life in a wheelchair. Many tests later which I will add the NHS have been brilliant at but I’m 100% sure without scan.com I wouldn’t be in the system yet and under specialists for my cancers . I hope getting quick results will have saved a life of being paralysed and ultimately earlier cancer intervention will after treatment prolong my life . Getting my result back the same afternoon as the scan was a complete surprise the report was easy to read and well explained. I did have to go to A&E the following day as I was in so much pain but as I had the report the doctor could easily see what was wrong with me.

The scan was very easy to arrange and the doctor who spoke with me before and after was empathic and even rang me with my results when she wasn’t working. The staff at the scanning centre were efficient but if someone was anxious I’m not sure how caring and patient they would be.

IF THIS WAS BASED ON SCAN.COM ONLY, I WOULD AWARD FIVE STARS. Four stars are due to the whole experience. My consultant wanted me to have an MRI a few months ago but due to a bad experience a few years ago I had said I’d rather not. Not sensible as all that caused was worry. I found Scan.com online and I booked a private MRI thinking that the experience would be different. I’m severely claustrophobic and hoped that being in a more relaxing environment would help. The initial service was excellent, the staff I spoke to from Scan.com were lovely and the Dr contacted me quickly and was very thorough. I chose to have my scan in Maidstone and that was not a good place for nervous patients. The Genesis Care reception area was very pleasant but I was directed to a mobile scanner in the car park. Unavoidably they were running late and I was told to sit in the car rather than a nice reception area. The radiographers were not friendly and I couldn’t understand the gentleman who questioned me. There was no compassion which I found unsettling. When I stressed that I was nervous there was no real acknowledgement of this. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE FROM SCAN.COM WAS EXCELLENT, I HAD MY SCAN AT 5PM AND THE RESULTS SIX HOURS LATER. So in short, I should have done my homework. I’ve had a scan at the Horder Centre in the past which I believe is one option I could have opted for. Theirs is still a mobile unit but attached to the building so you can sit in a pleasant environment which I think would have helped me. Maidstone is closer and I was relying on a lift hence that choice.

The booking process was easy, although my appointment time and day was changed when a member of staff contacted me to discuss the appointment. The staff at the scanner unit were lovely. I received my results very quickly and they were very clearly explained.
The scan was very straight forward. What was excellent was the thorough review of the results although I felt that less technical terms could also have been used for patients who are not too medically savvy!

Wanted a mri on lower lumber spine as have had back ache getting worse this last year. For peace of mind to tell me if any serious health issues developing. Excellent and easy booking service and had my scan local to me at Maidstone within 2 weeks of booking. Next day results with consultation follow-up call. It was all very good except finding the address. I was not the only person with problems. We should be told that it is a mobile unit in a car park and not an actual building. Practically unable to walk and in great pain I had to walk over to two buildings with the same address before directed to the right place. However, I could not believe the speed of my results as the report came through the next day, very good indeed.
Everything was very speedy and, apart from the fact I didnt know you would help me afterwards in forwarding the information to doctors etc. This was partly due to the scanner saying the report would come to the person who was on the email, assuming then that I would have to do the rest myself. As I am not computer literate, it was a great worry. The consultant did say he could not read the report but now I have been asked for my consent I hope he now can, along with my surgery! As I am not feeling fit, it is all very stressful dealing with it on my own!
