There are different types of pelvic ultrasounds, for prostate, gynaecological, transvaginal, and general pelvic examinations.
Any scan of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and joints. Includes the shoulder, ankle, wrist, hip, thigh or calf.
Blood vessel scans can assess deep vein thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins, aortic aneurysm, or carotid arteries for stroke risk.
A specific scan of the testes allows the identification of testicular tumours, sources of pain, and other abnormalities.
Neck ultrasounds enable examination of the thyroid gland, salivary glands, lymph nodes and any abnormalities in the area.
If you're experiencing pain, a change to a pre-existing health condition, or a new concern, an ultrasound scan can help you to find peace of mind.
Our expert clinical team, led by consultant radiologist Dr Khalid Latief (BMSc, MBChB, FRCP, FRCR) are here to provide the answers you need. They can use ultrasound scan images to identify any abnormalities, and help plan the best course of treatment.
After your ultrasound scan, a radiologist will examine your images, and compile a report of their findings.
The radiologist will then send your results to our clinical team, which can take up to a week. They will check your results, and email a copy to you.
If anything adverse is noted in your report, your clinician will provide a post-scan consultation call to explain the results and next steps.

A key benefit of booking a private ultrasound scan is that you do not need a referral from your regular GP to access our services. There is also no self-referral process. Instead, our in-house medical team will contact you once you have booked and made payment for your scan. Our clinicians will ask you for all of the relevant information they need to compile a referral on your behalf, which is then passed on to your chosen scanning site.
Common reasons for choosing to book a private ultrasound include reduced waiting times, quicker availability of results, and the option to choose a scan at a convenient location and time. Private providers can also offer a wider range of scanning techniques, and more time is usually assigned to each patient.
Once you have booked and paid for your scan, our clinical team will be in touch within 2 working days to arrange your medical assessment. After your consultation, our clinicians will refer your appointment request to our partner scanning centres. The partner centre will then contact you within 5-7 working days to confirm your appointment time.
When you arrive for your scan, you will be asked to complete a consent form, and you will be able to discuss what the process of your scan will entail. You usually won't need to change into a gown, but any preparation instructions will be provided by your chosen scanning site in the appointment confirmation email.
Depending on the type of ultrasound scan you require, the process can take anywhere from 15-45 minutes.
Meet our team of expert radiologists, osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners. They're here to provide the highest standards of care throughout your scanning journey.
