Who will I be assessed by?

You'll be matched with a member of our experienced clinical team, which includes GPs and radiologists. They'll provide a phone consultation to talk about your symptoms and medical history before your brain scan, and another follow-up call to discuss the results and next steps.

Your brain scan will be reviewed by an expert radiologist, who is a highly-trained doctor specialising in interpreting medical images. They will write a report of their findings, which will be explained to you by your dedicated clinician during the follow-up call, and shared by email afterwards.

How long does a brain scan take?

An MRI brain scan usually takes between 10-30 minutes, and your radiographer will explain the procedure when you arrive. Your overall appointment duration will also include any necessary safety checks and time to get changed and secure your belongings.

What does a brain scan show?

An MRI scan is the gold-standard test for creating detailed brain images. It can show the brain structures (cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem), blood vessels, inner ear and eye structures, and the skull and facial bones.

Brain MRI can reveal aneurysms, stroke, fluid on the brain (hydrocephalus), tumours, neurological disorders such as MS or Alzheimer’s, and degenerative diseases.
